Very cool, I absolutely love the copland/system7/8/9 look. For some reason I'm more skeptical of something like this than grassmunk's Platinum9[1] theme or the like. I have an old macbook with mint(?) and this theme on it, but it's so out of date that I'm scared to use that too.[1]https://github.com/grassmunk/Platinum9

I swear projects exactly like this were EVERYWHERE like 25 years ago. Couldn't throw a rock on the internet and not hit a MacOS Platinum theme/simulation layer for any given OS.I used one for Windows back in the day that somehow successfully lifted the file menus (well for most apps) from your apps to the top of the screen.

The use of Sourceforge might trick you into thinking it's an ancient project built by a human, but nah, it's a month-old slopfest. Yawn.

I didn't know SourceForge was still used.

Love it. I too use Platinum as a skin in my projects: https://github.com/rcarmo/wrdp

Looks somewhat vibe-coded. How much of this is independent work? If it's actually faithful graphic design and integrated, well-thought out code with a bit of Claude glue on top then I'm fairly intrigued, but if the entire thing was built with llm tooling then that does unfortunately sap my interest in this a lot.I do love the idea though. I do also hate the fact that if I saw a project like this six or seven years ago I'd be in awe at it, but now that there's far less effort required, I just go, "oh neat, eh, but how functional is it really" and move on.

    > start classic Mac OS in the built-in SheepShaver emulator with your own ROMBuilt-in as in preinstalled, or is there some deeper integration?

I like the dog in place of the Apple menu, it's cute. Is that Zac?

Software will eat software. Good luck Oracle, Apple, Microsoft, everyone.

This is a fantastic project thank you for making it. All those complaining about AI probably aren’t developers and even worse those who think AI written detection tools work. Just ignore the naysayers
